Iridology Studies | General Info

Iridology is a diagnostic method based on the iris of the eye.
Although this diagnostic method developed into its modern form in Europe, ancient cultures around the world, including Judaism, refer to the eye as a window onto human personality, abilities, characteristics and both physiological and mental health.

“…He told them, ‘Go out and see what is a good way to which a person should cleave.' R. Eliezer said, 'a good eye.’ (Pirkei Avot)

Judaism teaches us to look at life in a positive light, through faith in God that everything is for the best. Our eyes and the manner in which we perceive things reflects our mental state and our physical health and the way we experience life is directly influenced by our outlook.

Iridology is based on the holistic principle that the eye is a gateway to the soul, which vitalizes the body and which reflects a person’s mental and physical health. The iridologist uses a map of the iris to diagnose physical or emotional problems that could develop into disease, with each part of the iris representing a different organ or part of the body.

The diagnosis is made by asking the subject questions before the examination of the iris and each problem is determined in accordance with the issues raised by the subject and the iridologist’s observations of the iris, using a flashlight or optic device.

Iridology is currently considered an essential and primary diagnostic tool for practitioners of all types of complementary medicine.
While iridology by itself is only a diagnostic tool, iridologists can recommend the most suitable forms of therapy for solving a patient’s problems.
